Default pod pro is this normal

Hi folks

I have just bought the PODXT pro. I am using it for studio work
but have intentions in using it live. My question is whether I am
the only one who gets a hum or noise at the end of playing a note
or chord. It is like a sweep effect. In other words if I play a chord
and then block it I am not getting total silence but a 1 sec sweepy
sound which fades out. Someone has told me it is normal to get
this with products like this. But this to me is not acceptable.

Any input would be great
Thanks Ivan

I've got one and no this is not normal (in my case). I can't offer any
ideas as to why it is doing that.
I have heard people complain that they can be noisy with respect to hums and
such when used in PA
applications though it is a constant hum, not what you describe.

That sounds like a side effect from a lossy compression system to me.
What are you storing your data as?

Is there some kind of spectral gate on it, to cut noise when you are not
playing by reducing the top end? Can you turn it off?

Any input would be great
Thanks Ivan

Ivan,

I have the older orgional POD and do not get this effect you are
talking about. It sounds like you have the chrous or the trem effect
on. I can't beleive since they produced my unit and came out with the
PODXT they have made it worse.

If all the effects are turned off return it and get a new one. It
should not be doing what you described.

Sounds like noise gate to me. If it has a noise gate releas time and
threshold try adjusting them.
