so we're expanding the studio into the apartment next door, and the
wall separating the cr from the studio is such (from cr studio): 1/2" drywall, fiberglass, 2x4 on 16" cntr, 1/2" drywall, 2" airgap, 6 inches sand, veneer of plaster of paris. since the ceilings are 12'6", the 2x4 and drywall surface is rather resonant even with the insulation. i want to treat the cr surface to better that surface. i've thought about a patterned bead of acoustic caulk sandwiched under a new layer of 5/8" drywall. but the thing is, i don't like drywal, and i try to minimize its use. i could put a veneer of plaster of paris, and get an interesting texture in the process, but i'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to what i could do with this monstrosity (short of tearing it down). all the best chrisdeckard saintlouismo |
