Default Wire Melt?

When I pull up the carpet (and the rear seat) in my car, there is a
somewhat solid insulation material which looks like it was sprayed on at
the factory. What I find odd, is that the wires which were ran under
the carpet on my last installation seem to have melted their way into
the insulation. Even the low voltage wires from the head unit to the
amp. Here are some photos of what I am talking about:

Anyone know why this happens?

IMHO, I don't think it melted into it persay. I think when the insulation
material gets warmer (like in summer time) the insulation gets soft and from
the seat sitting on top of the wire, it just sinks in. Now, I couldn't tell
from your pictures, but is the sheilding on the wires melted in any area?

The heat from the exhaust and the weather heats this stuff up and the wires
either sink into it or are pressed into it by the pressure from the carpet
or seats. It's no big deal.

It looks like sound deadening, which gets soft when hot. It could have
been caused by ambient heat.
