HI,
Not too long ago I bought a pair of JBL LSR2328p monitors. I like them, and I'm pleased with the mixes I've been doing with them. Now I'm considering adding the recommended subwoofer, the JBL LSR2310sp to get a little more of the bottom end. And as I have been considering it, I noticed that JBL is offering a rebate if one also buys the MSC1 controller and RMC. Has anyone here used the MSC1, or the RMC on the 4328p's? How do people feel about the RMC? Is there real value in using it? Also, how about the LSR2310sp? Any opinions or experiences are appreciated. Thanks, Dean |

The RMC is really just a a very simple filter, maybe one or two poles, that can help deal with low end buildup from improper placement. It actually does a pretty good job of that, and JBL makes no attempt to correct for any higher frequency room problems. But it doesn't do any better than just setting the thing up properly. The MSC1 provides a decent crossover that is appropriate to the system and a handy control if you're not using a console with a monitor section. If you'd rather use some other 2-way crossover (say a Rane AC-22) that would be fine too. You really do need a crossover. Also, how about the LSR2310sp? Any opinions or experiences are appreciated. They aren't my favorites, but you can mix on them and be happy. This is more than I can say for a lot of the monitors out there. --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |
