![]() In a red-to-the-core display of petulance, the ****uplicans are digging in their heels on the President's drive to fix America's health care system. To them, it's just another political football, in the same class as civil rights for Gay Americans or the pros and cons of earmarks. The Democrats want something, so the ****uplicans reflexively refuse to cooperate. You can tell that the DOP is, as usual, putting party before country by the way they trot out every rationalization in the book to excuse their cruelty. The ****uplicans absolutely need an underclass to kick around, don't they, Scottie? First it's "the gubmint plan will steal business" from the profiteering insurance companies, but that's BS and everybody knows it. Then it's the spectre of "bureaucrats coming between you and your doctor", which is easily debunked because that's exactly what happens today with insurance companies making medical decisions. Then it's oh-boo-hoo, the Prez's plan won't reduce the overall cost, another wispy whine that gets blown away. To be fair about the ****uplicans' intransigence, we should allow for the possibibilty that they're not just playing politics. They might actually (snicker) believe that letting a lot of citizens suffer without treatment, or under the crushing debts of "retail" medical bills, is good for America. Or they might actually (double snicker) believe that Obama is pushing this issue only because he wants to make them look bad, not because there's any problem with the status quo. I don't buy those rationalizations, though. I think the ****uplicans are so obtuse that the only way they understand social progress is in terms of the red-versus-blue rivalry. The "ignorant and proud of it" movement is still slinking around the DOP despite the debacles of Dumbya and Palin. |

That's so much more articulate than "001011010001". Congrats. Although I should add that from a human point of view, that's too many "z"s. Your "point" (i.e., that you're an idiot and proud of it) would have been made equally with just a half-dozen, viz: Zzzzzz.... See? Well, no, of course you don't. But there it is. Nighty-night! |
