Hi. I'm looking to improve my health Insurance situation. Might anyone
have positive or negative experiences to share regarding the Health Insurance for AES members? Form www.aes.org/info/benefits.html "Insurance Programs: The AES is a member of Seabury & Smith, Inc. United States-based AES members can avail themselves of Life, Disability Income, Excess Major Medical and Medicare Supplemental Insurance programs at very attractive rates. The programs are available to all AES membership grades on an optional basis." Any other ideas would be appreciated as well. Thanks a bunch, -Mick -- Lose the "antispam_" from my email address to reply Mick F. Cantarella / Grampa Studios NYC www.grampastudios.com |

Does being a member of BMI, ASCAP or AES entitle one to
lower group rates for Health Insurance? I'm not sure of AES but the musicpro rates thru BMI and ASCAP are group priced. --------------------------------------- "I know enough to know I don't know enough" |

JN I'd worry that this group would qualify for HIGHER rates, based on the general perception of health-related life-style behaviors of the group. -Jay -- x------- Jay Kadis ------- x---- Jay's Attic Studio ------x x Lecturer, Audio Engineer x Dexter Records x x CCRMA, Stanford University x http://www.offbeats.com/ x x-------- http://ccrma-www.stanford.edu/~jay/ ----------x |

Form www.aes.org/info/benefits.html Their long term disability program seems to be fairly priced -- I've carried it for years. It would be a good thing if AES offered a true health insurance program -- most audio pros are self-employed or employed by small businesses that may or may not offer group insurance. -- Len Moskowitz PDAudio, Binaural Mics, Cables, DPA, M-Audio Core Sound http://www.stealthmicrophones.com Teaneck, New Jersey USA http://www.core-sound.com Tel: 201-801-0812, FAX: 201-801-0912 |
