Default Humidity: guitars vs. microphones

What I did was to buy a watertight tackle box (it has a gasketed lid)
and put my condenser mics in there with the silica gel. If I don't
leave it open, the gel doesn't turn pink for a long time and the
humidity stays at around 15%

50% is not too much humidity for microphones. That's really not very
much moisture at all.

Microphones, I'm told, should be kept "as dry as possible", but I don't
know if that's relative to a steamy summer day or to normal indoor
humidity.

Guitars want a humidity close to 50%. I have a whole-house humidifier,
and tend to keep the humidity around 50% anyway, unless it's too cold
and that causes condensation.

Is 50% too humid for microphones? If so, what's the solution? I have
silica gel packs that turn pink when they're fully saturated; that takes
about a day, and I'm not going to bake my silica every morning.

50% is okay, but drier is better for condenser mikes. Keep them in sealed
plastic bags with some silica gel if you aren't using them every day.
