Hi
I am planning to buy the Jamo speakers, E 550PDD.5 - but only the front floor speakers for the stereo and not the centre and surround speakers. Here in India it costs about Rs 19740(~$440) just for the front speakers. Being the novice, I went around learning a bit about how to set-up an hi-fi system and am only a week old in this area. So here I am taking the easy way and mailing you all. So would these alone give me the good music and allow me to upgrade to the surround speakers once I save more money. I was recommended by the store-keeper who sell Jamo and Denon only to go for AVR-1404 from Denon. Denon's specifications say that their output is 75W+75W, while Jamo speakers have a range of power from 100/140W (long/short term - what does this mean ?). Now something tells me this model of Denon is not the right one or the matching one. It costs Rs.26888(~$600). So, should I try and match the power from a Amplifier. I have not heard good about Jamo speakers, but I loved the music from some of their pieces. I could not judge well, this E 550 except it fits my budget. Any other floor speakers which I should look at. thanks, Ashok |
