I am planning to replace my olde Naim Nait II which has incredibly
been serving me good music for way over a dozen years. Naturally I am thinking about the new Nait 5i. It is priced relatively reasonably and at 50wpc has more power then any Nait ever produced. However, at that price I can also get Rega pre-power combo (which will give me a lot more power) plus can go into bi-amp mode if I buy amother amp. How does the rega stack up against the Nait 5i? I will be driving a pair of Celestion A-1s and sometimes a pair of Harbeth Ls3/5As for now. And the possibility of running multi-channel is definitely tempting. If this amp wont support multichannel, this will just be used later when I upgrade as a bedroom type system for backup. I know about the Naim forum but I need a more objective view of anyone has any experience with the nait 5i and how it stacks up in the round earth. Any inputs appreciated. John |
