Default Ardour 2.0 Released.

There's been a few discussions about Ardour DAW for Linux/OSX on this news
group in the past, so I though people would be interested to know the 2.0
version is out.

I'd call this 'finished', as as far as I can tell, everything does what it
should and it's reliable.

It's evolved into a rather nice DAW, with too many features to list here.
Not all the features everyone needs (Midi tracks are still under
development, and plugin support could be easier/wider) but enough for the
mostly audio tracking I do.

I've been fascinated by watching this software develop, and have probably
bored people here about it too many times so I'll leave it there.
Congratulations to all the people who have worked so hard on it!

We've been using Ardour for a couple of years. It is very stable now
and I just used it to play back multichannel sound files for a concert
of computer music pioneers to honor Max Mathews' 80th birthday at the
Computer History Museum in Mountain View. (That's not an audience that
appreciates glitchy playback.)

The developers deserve a round of applause for their excellent work.
