I'm in no position to invest in a new cd player these days, but my
trusty Nak is becoming a bit harsh to listen to. I'd almost rather listen to music on my PC these days. I haven't found anything by searching google or yahoo, except the possibility that this player utilizes some Burr Brown components (which I do not know for sure), which suggests that might be a possible and inexpensive upgrade (assuming power and pinouts haven't changed or i can find an op-amp to match...). but i'm at a loss. can anyone recommend a site? or if you know of a hack or two, please share it with me. Thanks!! --db |

You could try cleaning the laser head, as the harshness could be caused by
data bit dropout. Clean the interconnects it could be a jitter problem. / oxidized connections. else it could a electronic component failing due to age, a cap is the most likely. I hope this helps in some small way. Chris "db" wrote in message news:QJCub.45927$Dw6.231386@attbi_s02... Try contacting these guys http://www.premieraudio.ca/?area=company they were
a huge Nakamichi dealer when Nak was alive and well. Even if you don't live in the frozen north, they might have some handy advice. "chris" wrote in message news:EPOvb.80572$Dw6.385219@attbi_s02...
