Default Updating a vintage audio cabinet....need help

I have this old Motorola turntable/radio in my garage that I need to do
something with or my wife is going to give it away. I think its from the
1950's or 60's. Its a very old and vintage looking table or cabinet with a
hidden radio and turntable inside. It stands about 2 or 3 feet tall and is
about 5 or 6 feet long and about 1 foot and a half in depth. I took the
back panels off and there's all these tubes and wires underneath the audio
equipment. On both sides of this piece are the speakers (3 different sizes
on each side) sown into the cabinet front end. I'm not sure if anyone knows
what I'm talking about here, but what I want to do is keep the vintage look
of the furniture piece, but add modern audio equipment inside. Has anyone
done anything like this, and if so, some suggestions as to how to upgrade
would be great. I'm not an expert by any means when it comes to audio
equipment, but I'm hoping this project isn't too big of an undertaking for
me. Thanks.

Eddie
