I can almost hear the flames before I ask.
Wondering if I could use my M-Box (original) as a portable mic preamp without connecting it to my Powwerbook. The reason is there are times I don't want to mess with setting up the Powerbook, and I don't need Protools. I'd just like to interface the M-Box with a small recorder (analog or S/PDIF) and make a recording. Later, it might get imported to Pro Tools. I assume the only issue with this scheme is where the M-Box would get it's power, since it normally comes from the USB on the Mac. I also realize the mic preamps are not great, but for what I want to do they're sufficient. Thoughts appreciated. C.A. |
