I have an opportunity to buy some Advent Baby II speakers. I have not found
much info in them. What I am mostly needing is a good full range speaker with a small footprint. I currently have some Bose 201 Series III speakers but would like to replace them with something that sounds a little warmer with better highs. The Bose sound crisp but the imaging leaves a bit to be desired, (it's rigid) and I feel like I am missing presence in the upper mid-range and very high end. These speakers are going in the cabin of a sailboat, any opinions? Thanks |

The problem with every marine grade speaker I have heard is that they are terrible sounding speakers accept for the 10" kicker sub-woofer I have installed. Since it is in a decent sized cabin, my real issue with environment is heat more than anything else because I live in Texas and it gets to be ridiculously hot in the summer (though it's obviously not the friendliest speaker environment on other fronts as well). Do you have a suggestion for polypropylene/butyl speakers that are full range, 6 inch 2 way speakers that are small shelf speakers that are not too heavy on the bass? I can't use 6 X 9's or anything like that because I have to set them on shelves in cabinets. |
