Default Sound quality - DVD changer v CD changer

My Aiwa AV-X300 has been infected by gremlins and apparently nobody makes a combo receiver/cd changer anymore, so I am looking at receiver & changer separates. As long as I am buying a changer, it occurs to me that maybe I should buy one that plays DVDs, even though I cannot use that capability at the moment (but maybe in the future). From the standpoint of sound quality, in general is there any difference in quality between a DVD changer and a CD changer? Will be playing mostly pre-recorded CDs, a few MP3 compilations through JBL SP8s mounted in the ceiling of a couple of different rooms in my house.

And if there are any recommendations, will appreciate same. Thanks.
