I have seen a mission cyrus one amp in excellent condition both
cosmetically and functionally, advertised for $120 .
As i am on a limited budget but do not wish to buy new poor quality
equipment, is this a good viable alternative and is the advertised
price fair for such an amplifier taking into account age (15 years)
and condition??.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as i cannot find any detailed
info on this amp or what it retailed for originally, and have limited
knowledge in this field myself.

I found the Cyrus 1 always a nice little amp for the money.
It's definitely worth the $120 they're asking.
When it fails, it's easy to repair, as it uses fairly common parts
every technician can obtain.
Except for the power transistors, they can be replaced by generic
types but the amp won't perform as good as it did before.

Be sure to use reasonably efficient speakers in the order of 88 dB/w/m
or better, as the output power is limited to about 30 W/ch/8 ohms.

**It was an OK amp. Nothing special, IMO. The Cyrus One employed
Quasi-Complementary Symmetry outputs, without any VI limit circuits. Nasty
stuff. Personally, I'd suggest a nice old NAD or Rotel. Better amps and
probably available at better prices.
