What is this newsgroup all about? I just posted a question about audio
equipment; yet I see loads of political posts.

Enlighten me, please.

Personally I feel we are watching the death of a newsgroup, which is a

what a mess it is, declare it a bogus newsgroup, and issue a rmgroup.

I suspect that the actual number of posters is far smaller than that which
seems apparent.

It is a characteristic of the audio fraternity that strangers tend to bond,
or bitterly polarize.
What you're witnessing is for the most part, a bunch of people who would
invite each other into their homes, if not separated by physical distance.
As with intimates, subjects tend to wander.

As with any public newsgroup, there have been a few near psychopathic
participants.
Two particular names are Arny Krueger, and the currently absent Greg Singh
(moniker Trotsky.)

These individuals are not part of the social structure, but function as
malignant parasites.

It is a "cesspool" in the audio newsgroups...some of the other
respondees to the question, explain just who the main culprits
are that are still here.

Something of this same has happened to other sites..such as
rec.shortwave..foulness, namecalling, political extremes..have
made inroads of destroying it also. Pitiful sight..there are mindsets
out there that thrive on this type of thing. It is some kind of
reflection on what we are all about...without some level of
discipline. Sad sight to behold!

We are all going to be forced into some type of "moderated"
sites. As a species, we have a long way to go!
