Default Corrupted wav files?

I've been using the Belkin voice recorder with my iPod to record
2-person interviews. Until last week, no problem. Everything works
fine. Then, upon syncing my iPod, none of the voice memos I recorded
sine the last sync are playable. They all have what looks like the
right stats (length of recording makes sense, as does the size of the
files -- both are perfectly in keeping with all the other files I've
recorded), but other than a tiny bit of static, nothing. Is there any
software I could try for recovering the files? As an experiment, I
tried copying and converting one to AAC format, but ... nothing. Any
ideas?
