Default active direct box, high quality?

Must be battery powered. Does such a thing exist?

Cost no object? Certainly, no problem.
Why battery powered?

I'll be carrying it around NYC for my street recording project, to record a
3rd, "accent" track I'm going with your suggestion for the Countryman 85. It
seems perfect, thanks.

The 85 had good sound and will also run off phantom power.

A reasonable and versatile Direct Box would be the Boss DI-1; new it
runs a hundred bucks. Has ground lift, phase reverse, pad and works
like a charm, battery or phantom.
