I don't know about you, but I don't care who he was ****ing 30 years ago. If he has to go to court and lies about it under oath, then we can have his balls for breakfast. Honoring agreements refers to taking "off-the-record comments" and publishing them. This is a serious breech of journalistic standards. Oh you mean like Jayson Blair and the New York Times? Oh, sorry, those weren't even off-the-record... Those were just plain made up. One would have to wonder if Matt Drudge would give up a source if he thought it would make a sensational headline Smearing refers to headlining items that are unproven at the point that they're being splashed across the internet. Not only is it bad journalism, but it might even hinder getting to the truth, one way or another. You mean like Bush being "AWOL"? Or "lying" about WMD's? Or Blair "sexing up" intel? Honoring agreements refers to taking "off-the-record comments" and publishing them. This is a serious breech of journalistic standards. Oh you mean like Jayson Blair and the New York Times? Why yes, I do, as a matter of fact, although his "crimes" were a bit different. And, as far as I know, the Times took action and he paid for those crimes. Oh, sorry, those weren't even off-the-record... Those were just plain made up. Absolutely. Am I supposed to excuse Drudge because of this? One would have to wonder if Matt Drudge would give up a source if he thought it would make a sensational headline Smearing refers to headlining items that are unproven at the point that they're being splashed across the internet. Not only is it bad journalism, but it might even hinder getting to the truth, one way or another. You mean like Bush being "AWOL"? Or "lying" about WMD's? Or Blair "sexing up" intel? You mean like that? As to the first, if someone claims that it's been proven that he was AWOL, yes I do. Because I think the jury's still out on that one, despite the new massaged informtion. As to the second, it's clear that we were not told the truth about WMD. Lying? I think a case can be made for that (I guess if the Right plays fast and loose with the facts, it's OK, right)? As to the third, I'm not all that familiar with the claims of Blair "sexing up" intel. *We* certianly did it though. |

I thought they were starting to run out of ideas by the end of last season. Boon As usual, Marc, some of the characterizations are better than others. I find enough of the little episodes funny to watch the series, I guess. Of course, to see Ed, one can just read McKelvy's posts on RAO ![]() The 1st new episode was pretty good, especially the opening bit with Hadassah complaining about a doll she received. Also, the episode with Edgar was pretty funny. I don't say more in case you elect to watch it. My favorite characters on the show are (a) Edgar (see the episode where he sees a fellow in the park urinal - priceless), (b) Birchum - the Viet Nam vet (see the Ashes at Sea bit), (c) Ed (yeaaaaaah!), (d) Niles Standish (the veddy wealthy British guy with the unusual tastes), and Gladys (see the episodes where she complains about Slime and where she calls the hardware store because she's stuck to the toilet seat). While some of the stuff is just silly and it's definitely for those who are easily offended, I think all-in-all, it's one of the funnier programs I've seen in any 30 minute series on TV. While I know this will date me (and I don't care), I wish somebody would syndicate and/or rerun episodes of Second City Television - which gets my vote for one of the funniest series of all time (along with Monty Python). Both are classics and deserve to be shown again IMHO. Bruce J. Richman |

I love Special Ed and Birchum, and Bobby Fletcher makes me laugh, too (as well as the guy who has that problem with projectile vomiting). Niles Standish actually gets on my nerves a bit. South Park, on the other hand, seems to get funnier and funnier every year. Boon |

I hiope Kerry wil go one on one with Edwards in a debate before Super Tuesday, but I'm not holding my breath. I think Edwards would rip him to shreds. ----== Posted via Newsfeed.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeed.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! 100,000 Newsgroups ---= 19 East/West-Coast Specialized Servers - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
