Hello everyone,
I own a dual MOTU 896 rig. This is not the more recent HD version but the original 896. Way back when i got the first one it came with Cuemix software for zero latency monitoring. I could never get it to work. Here's what would happen: Go to Start menu - MOTU - Firewire Cuemix Console *double click*.... and nothing. I finally gave up and just relied on the horsepower of my machine to deliver around 6ms roundtrip latency through the native DAW. Fastforward a few years and I'm wishing this was zero latency and a friend reminded me about this whole Cuemix thing and zero latency monitoring. So I updated all my drivers from the MOTU site and the exact same thing happens on my Desktop and on my Laptop rigs. The Cuemix fails to launch. I found hints on newsgroups/support that Cuemix Consoles only work with the HD versions of the 896's and not the originals which i own. Can anyone verify this? Here are my systems' specs: Desktop: P4C800 Deluxe/3ghz P4 Processor. WinXP SP1 1gig RAM Laptop: Acer 1.73 Intel Centrino M, WinXP SP1 1.5gig RAM Both systems running Cubase SX2. Thanks, Mike |
