I was recording vocals today through an AT2020 mic into a Studio
Projects VTB-1 preamp with an RNC inserted, and occasionally I'd get a fluttering distortion coming from the microphone. I'd have to wait a bit and then it would be fine. I bypassed the compression to see if it was coming from there, and it wasn't. I tapped gently on the mic and the sound was there--like something in the mic was loose. But then it would go away. I thought it might be power surges with the phantom power. Any ideas? Thanks, Jeff |
