Will some current speakers be regarded like Strads?
Will people fruitlessly try to recreate the varnish on a Dunlavy, believing
that the secret to the sound is in the varnish?

Will people then believe that it is impossible to make a good speaker for
less than $100,000 ?
Will amplifiers be fueled by integral biobatteries, in a world that can no
longer provide the power for Class A operation?
Will the CD have long vanished, leaving "them" with only vinyl?

Will thermionic emission have yielded at last, perhaps to FED (field
electron devices) ?

Or is the future of audio unimaginably different from the past?

Will all amplifiers be nano switchers, sprayed onto speaker cones, powered
by local microwave emitters?

it was a tight race, for some time, but in the end, bioengineering existing
lifeforms turned out to be more reliable and cheaper than building
artificial new ones with nannites
we use WCCFE speakers, nowadays*, that's wirelessly controlled
cricket field emission speakers - very efficient stuff :-)
