With respect to the High End only -- Will they still be two channel?
Will some current speakers be regarded like Strads? Will people fruitlessly try to recreate the varnish on a Dunlavy, believing that the secret to the sound is in the varnish? Will people then believe that it is impossible to make a good speaker for less than $100,000 ? Will amplifiers be fueled by integral biobatteries, in a world that can no longer provide the power for Class A operation? Will the CD have long vanished, leaving "them" with only vinyl? Will thermionic emission have yielded at last, perhaps to FED (field electron devices) ? Or is the future of audio unimaginably different from the past? Will all amplifiers be nano switchers, sprayed onto speaker cones, powered by local microwave emitters? In the year 2055, if Man is still alive? And of course -- Will people still be squabbling on r.a.o., vying for a barnyard sort of immortality? |

There are various jokes about the "three doors." Outdoor speakers with metal cones are very popular in Hell. |
