Default question for R. Morein

Robert, I just received an email from your nemesis Bwian. He seems to be
interested in proving that he is not "Michael Conzo".

I admit I have little experience in dealing with potentially dangerous
psychotics. What do you think should I do?

George,
Over the past few years, I have received several emails from individuals
who were contacted by Brian in a similar vein, namely to dissociate himself
from his internet alter-egos. Brian's behavior runs in long eliptical cycles
that roughly repeat:

1. Aggression, via usenet, anonymous telephony, and complaints to local law
and code enforcement authorities.
2. Search for social acceptance through sockpuppetry.
3. Denial of association with "bad" sockpuppets.
4. Return to aggression.

These phases seem to loop back-and-forth in an overlapping, irregular
rhythm. However, Brian's aggression has always seemed limited to attempts to
damage the reputation of persons he considers to be enemies. We have not
seen any evidence that he is physically violent. For what it's worth, I have
not received any follow-up emails from other contactees indicating that they
were now the victims of harasssment. However, simply as a matter of course,
I would recommend extreme caution in dealing with parcels of Far East
origin. The Australian Funnel-Web spider, "Atrax robustus" has been at least
theoretically considered as a mailable lethal weapon.

Brian's particular enemies are people who sell things on usenet newsgroups.
In the past, there has been an association between Brian and the Snow White
virus. He may have acted with a desire to foment antagonism on this group.
My interest in him began with a case where Bill Watkins was accused by
someone else of sending a virus. At that time, it turned out that a whole
slew of people on r.a.o. were targeted for viruses. The same people reported
having their mailboxes bombed, and all had recent slight brushes with Brian.
This happened on multiple weekends, always beginning on a Friday night,
after the About.com tech staff quit for the weekend.

I do not know if About.com still allows subscriptions to their listservers
without email confirmation. In my case, I found it most useful to put my
emails on an "About" blocked list.

The usual precautions apply: secret emails, unlisted phone number, low
visibility in public records.
Know who you are talking to. Any text with a style unusual to the poster
should result in an examination of the headers.
Perform frequent Google and Google Groups searches to determine if your
usenet identity is being used for other purposes.

"Michael Conzo" knows North Queensland well:

One rumour that circulated in the past was that Brian displays
extremely aggressive tendancies toward burgers, devouring them
wholesale.

One of our informants has stated that Brian developed a taste for fine
cuisine, and in fact, fatted up as a glutinous gourmand.

I spoke to McCarty after leaving my details. He pointed out a heap of fact
errors being said were true by Morein. I could check a couple, and they
checked out. The most obvious to an Aussie is the difficutly migration is,
and the massive investigations that occurr. If he wasn't fair dinkum he
wouldn't have been allowed to stay. He didn't sound "dangerous psychotic"
at all (assuming he's not currently mediacated, I guess). Gave me his
mobile number too. None of this that important to me but hate to see a new
Aussie dissed.

Sure, Brian, sure I like the spelling errors. Nice touch.
It's interesting to note that "Michael Conzo" does not normally make massive
spelling and grammatical errors. I wonder why he chose to do so this time.
