Hi
I have a field recording to do this weekend and I'm not happy with the quality of the preamp that I have available. I'm recording unto a Sony DAT TCD8 with a couple of Schoeps collette mikes. My questions: Can I use a Nagra IVS ( my dad's store in my closet) as a phanton power and as a preamp ? Do I need to have tape running though it in order to be able to monitor the sound? other than the weight issue are there any problems with this idea? Is there a a battery operated preamps in the market that match the quality of the Nagra I would use the Nagra alone but I could find tape on time for the event. Thank you in advanc for your help. |
