Default Getting Started

I am a new owner of a 1993 Mitsubishi Galant and I want to replace the
audio system. I don't need a big boy setup, just something simple yet
good and great sounding to replace the factory default system. I have
no knowledge of cars and car stereo systems as this is my first car.
The only thing I'm sure of is I will be using my portable MP3 player
(Creative Nomad Zen) as the main source of music, I'm thinking about
going with Aiwa's CDC-X504MP CD receiver (because of the AUX input on
the front and ability to play MP3 CDs, which I may use sometimes).

I don't know which and how many speakers I need. I do have speakers in
the dash, front doors and rear of back seats behind the head rest. And
I love my Harmon/Kardan computer speakers and would love for my car
stereo to sound as great as them.

Can someone tell me what I need for speakers and recommendations on
brands?

Thanks in advance,
DiGiTY
