Anyone know anything about this mic? I can't find much on the WEB about it.
I have one and the output seems low. I am trying to decide if I should have
this mic serviced and use it or if I just have an antique and should hang it
on the wall.

The output is pretty low, yes. Send it in to Beyer and have them check it
over. They'll make sure it's up to specs, and if it really is a rarity they
will tell you that also.

Ack Electronics in Atlanta had a bunch of them on the shelf when they were
a Beyer dealer, and when they stopped carrying the stuff in the seventies
they were selling for cheap. But I didn't have the money, so I missed out.

I have Beyer catalogs going back more than 20 years and it's not
listed in any of the literature that I have. It's possible that it's a
communications mic, not a studio mic. What does it look like?

What about a Beyer WS 84? I just bought one at a garage sale. It is
the coolest windscreen. And it comes with a whole bunch of different
inserts allowing one to put it on almost any size mic except for large
diaphragm condensors.

Nope. The WS86 is pretty cool though. It has a handle (for the M69 and
M88).
