WAAAAY too few!

Aww, man.... so long, Ray!

I met him in an elevator in Providence Rhode Island, of all places, and could
hardly speak!

A big loss for sure.

Aaaaaaa, you pickin' on Providence? ;

With Brown and RISD, famous parent celebrity sightings are a little
commonplace. George Harrison used to spend time at an large quasi fancy
health foodish East Side grocery store, sitting like he was nobody, in
the area with tables where you could hang out and read and drink coffee
or munch. Some people almost had heart attacks walking in just to do a
little shopping.

A very good friend of mine walked by Ringo one afternoon on Thayer
Street (Brown University/RISD area) and couldn't believe his eyes.
Ringo's wife's kid, and Paulie's daughter as well, both attended RISD.

A former staff engineer got to meet and spend some time with JFK Jr.
while he was at Brown. Yes, before he took up flying. List goes on and
on.

He was 73. Not all that old today.

I didn't realize he'd been that ill that long. According to news reports
he'd been off a year for hip surgery (which guessing from my health
experiences was probably what took him down - the "time off" I mean. A lot
of people that age once they stop never get going again). They said a couple
of months ago he was at a dedication in a motorized wheelchair and could
barely manage a whisper yet today's the first I've heard of it.

Same thing happened to my dad. Hip surgery and then he just never could
regain traction.

Man............it's a sad sad day.

I'm shocked and saddened to hear of the loss of this great man of soul
and blues...So that we can console ourselves at this sad time:

During the "We Are The World" recording, they were looking for Ray at
A & M Studios on LaBrea for a sound check. He'd checked in but was
somehow missing.

Someone said: "He's blind, where can he go?"

He was located in Willie Nelson's bus, sharing a smoke with Willie -
no further comment.

God bless this great musician...
