Please help!!!
I want to listen digital 5.1 on my Denon! Audigy 1 card has SPDIF digital output, and Denon has optical and coaxial inputs for digital signals. Is it possible to use SPDIF to connect to optical or coaxial input. Does Audigy have possibility to send optical signal by plugging some kind of adapter on card? TIA |

You should be able to connect the coax spdif output of the Audigy
directly to the coax digital input of the Denon and play from your computer through the Audigy card. On Tue, 26 Oct 2004 23:28:02 +0200, "Marko Petrovic" wrote: Please help!!! Be careful doing this, the digital output from an Audigy is TTL level, and consequently rather higher than the coax input is expecting. It might be safer to use a coax to optical converter, such that if there is a problem, you only damage a £15 converter, rather than your amp. An alternative is to build up a simple optical output board for the audigy. You only need a few passive components in addition to the optical transmitter and reciever. Pinouts and schematics can readily be found on the net. |
