Hi,
I have a pair of Sennheiser HD25-SP headphones that overall sound great. However, when listening (connected to my portable mp3 player or Harman Kardon amp) to vocals in various types of music, I am often irritated by the way the 'S' sound enters my ears. Even at low volume I often think it's to bright and crisp to be comfortable. Now, my question to you is as follows: What could be the cause for this discomfort at my end ? Can it be my ears are too sensitive at this frequency, are my headphones at fault, is it the amp driving the phones, is it a badly recorded album or is it a badly compressed mp3 ? I must say it differs quite a lot between artists and recordings in how much I am bothered by the way the 'S' sounds sound. Any insight would be appreciated ! Kind regards, Jelmer Feenstra |
