After 15 years of leased cars where I put in a nice system, then pull
out the goodies at the end of lease, I have a box of like 5 very good to at least decent amps (2 old Carver amps, 2 new Bazooka, something else) and half a dozen various subwoofers. Trouble is most shops have a pretty strong bias, ie charge up the yang, against installing stuff they don't sell. I'd like to find a good installer that would install some of this old but good stuff for a fair price, and doing a clean job. Last part is critical since the car is my wifes baby, a 1999 Lincoln Continental. Install would be 4 channels of amp to high pass the factory speakers (could be two amps, or I may buy a decent 4 channel to keep space down), and another amp low passed to drive a subwoofer. Any suggestions? Right now my first choice is Eric at SpeakerWorks, not cheap, but everything else excellent. Second choice, Circuit City, yeah, yuck, but cheap when on sale. |
