The MFA Magus is an all-time classic preamp. MFA, Bruce Moore and Scott
Frankland, produced the legendary LUMINESCENCE. The smaller Magus is one of the best preamplifiers ever made for the money. I had all new caps, resisters, RCA's put in by Scott Franklind himself. $600 worth in October 2002. He also hot-rodded the phono section. It is costing me a whole lot more to move up to the next level. This can even be used as a separate phono stage (use the tape loop and it only goes through the phono section by passing the line stage). This is a great choice for someone who wants to get the advantages of vinyl without committing a fortune or not have an exit plan. If you get hooked on vinyl it gets who lot more expensive, very fast after this level. See my Rega 25 turntable for sale as well. Call me for more details or comparisions to other pre amps I've used. $900 plus shipping and or paypal expenses |
