Hi, I bought recently a Motu 828 card to use it with my Dell laptop. I'm
planning to use it for live performance and occasionally home recording using sonar. Since I got the card I have not been able to make it work with my laptop and I would like to know if what I'm doing is the right way to do it or if I'm missing something else. So I'm connecting the card to the firewire port of my laptop and one of the output of the card is connecting to an speaker and that's not working because when I try to play something with sonar it doesn't makes any sound, however some strange noise comes out from the speaker. So I was wondering if that way I'm connecting the card is ok or do I need to connect something else, like a mixer or a converter etc, between the card and the speakers in order to make sound right. Can someone recommend me a firewire cable I could use. I'm not sure if I order the right one because it says is a firewire cable but the box said ideal for video and I'm not sure if that could be part of my problem. Thanks |
