He can actually get a pretty damn good system for $4000. I consider mine
to be pretty much over the top and I've only got about MAYBE $4000 in it. All DEI Studio Components, Midbasses and Coaxials and tweets, Directed amps (4 total) 2 Diamond TDX 12" subs, a buttload of Stinger Expert Series (their current top-end) 0 and 4 AWG wiring and power accessories and interconnects (for looks mainly). That was all from a local dealer. Ebay and online prices can be even better. Brandonb Jason wrote: Sorry I dont think 4000 bucks is enough to get a decent system. Might wanna try WalMart ;P I think the first question is are you an experienced installer? If so, you can save a LOT of money by doing it yourself. If not, it really is worth it to have a shop install most of your equipment, as installation has a HUGE effect on quality. As for brands etc, I think you should listen to each first and make your own decisions. But my choices would probably be something like this: Head Unit, DVD player Kenwood Front/Rear Speakers: Dynaudio, Focal, MB Quartz, or Crystal (being MUCH cheaper)... whichever sounded best to me. Subwoofer: 2 IDMAX 10" (since you have the fundage... this will put out serious sounds) Amps: Xtant is nice, also Pheonix Gold, JL Audio is making some nice ones as well.. just so many out there, you should have a listen. Dont skimp on wiring. Good luck, I am sure this was NO help. |

Yes, like I said in my former post, if he doesn't know what hes doing, best
to hire someone who does... nothing is as worth as much as a good install... "Eddie Runner" wrote in message ... Or a crappy ass system if he doesnt know what he is doing,,,!!! That's if you can find a good installer. In NJ, I have not had great
success with this. Most are kids that barely know how to use a VOM, and will probably make a copy of your address so they can steal your stereo after they install it. Flame away...
