Default Tascam DM-24 "Blue Screen of Death"

Seems like I went through this one other time - when the Tascam Forums were
still available - and I found the fix. Then again, maybe I lucked into it.
But, I shut down my DM-24 while it was locked up in a mode I had not used
before (dumb), and now am unable to get it to boot back up - with nothing
but the "blue screen" on the display when I power up. Is this a case where I
need to reload the software? Thanks for your help, in advance.

I never ran into your problem, but it sounds like you may need to reinitialize
the board... although I have no idea how you could do that if unable to boot it
up.

I really miss the Tascam user forums, that was a great asset for DM24 owners...
lately i've encountered a fader that continually slips down to infinity during
use, regardless of snapshot or automation settings. I've been linking it it's
neighbor, using it for a stereo source, and taping it at zero while using the
linked fader to make moves. Major PITA but what else can i do, can't exactly
part with it for a month while they fix it.

I remember what I did last time. Nothing. I left it alone for about an hour,
and I think it shut itself down. Just flipped the switch, and everything
fired up.

Agreed. I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but if you don't already have
an idea of what you are doing (me), the manual can be a bit cryptic. Not to
mention the fact that all the bases are not covered.

Yep. The thought of sending the main board back is brutal. Thanks for your
help.
