I wonder if anyone in this group has any experience with a contact cleaner
made in the UK called "Kontak" which appears to be only sold in the USA by Galen Carol Audio Systems? Supposedly Kontak leaves no residue whatsoever, but what might make it superior to 99% Isopropyl Alcohol for contact cleaning, a Galen Carol sales person could not tell me. I am also still somewhat confused as to the pros and cons of DeoxIT vs. Gold DeoxIT vs. Stabilant 22A, and the possible negative results of the residue which these products leave behind? I also read that Stabilant 22A must be replaced each time a connection, such as an XLR connection, is taken apart, whereas this is supposedly not true with either of the DeoxIT or the Gold DeoxIT products. I will be most grateful for any comments regarding the above. Thank you in advance. |
