I just need a basic 1 cd player with "decent" sound and AM/FM in the
$100 range. I have been looking at the Phillips FWM143, which is $120 at CC but online at New Egg for $80. http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Phili...oductDetail.do Any comments on this model or any readily available alternative in this price range? Would this system be at least modestly better than a $35 crapomatic boombox from Walmart? |

"Piezoelectric tweeters" would be an automatic turn-off to me. YMMV. Dunno whether there is any significant difference in those low-end plastic consumer gadgets. Did you look for reviews online? |

The only way to know is to grab a few of your CDs and try out the various players at the local shops. Kal |
