Either I'm missing something really serious about TDM, or LE is the biggest bang-for-the-buck to come down the road in a long time. You would think digid would have a pat answer of what tools or capabilities are not in LE. They sorta do: TDM takes the processing off the computer and puts it on dedicated DSP cards. That's not insignificant. It just doesn't seem to be *necessary* for many, many applications. -- "It CAN'T be too loud... some of the red lights aren't even on yet!" - Lorin David Schultz in the control room making even bad news sound good (Remove spamblock to reply) |

Hook up any two button mouse and it works. |

Hey Ethan
I didn't mean to insult you in any way--sorry. Thanks for the enlightening article on copy protection! BTW- I have been a registered CW user since 7 (have 7,8,9 and now use Sonar 3.1 Producer). I just want to clarify-that I am not a "Bozo" or whatever that guy called me. And the Event speakers that were blowing up were due to a batch of mis-shipped European models and had nothing whatsoever to do with anything I did. It was fun blowing em up! I finally got the right pair and I love em-they sound great and translate well. They were my favorite of the Dynaudio, the Mackies and JBL- in the same price range-the ASP8s are cool! Thanx Jeff "Ethan Winer" ethanw at ethanwiner dot com wrote in message ... Jeff, are you using a pirated copy? ROF,L. No, and it wasn't complimentary either. I paid for every version from 1.0 through 5.0. I was going to skip the 5.0 upgrade because 4.0 does more than I'll ever need. Heck, 1.0 was plenty good enough. But everyone told me 5.0 was a very worthwhile upgrade so I bought that too. Copy protection is a big problem, and I refuse to buy anything protected with more than a serial number. Too many companies go out of business - even big companies - and I'm not willing to see my investment (money AND time) go down the toilet the next time I buy a new computer. I have been tricked a few times though, like my recent purchase of Vegas 6 - DVD Architect won't work until it's registered with a challenge response. Here's more on copy protection: www.ethanwiner.com/copyprot.html --Ethan |

I just don't believe it, I think you're broke and bored and looking for some flames." You make me laugh. But it is cool that you are writing songs. I love music- and I know what you mean about people who have to blab about being a "pro" or whatever and a lot of times they are just a joke. Some guy wanted to sit in a couple of weeks agof. He walked up to the stage and immediately went into a speech about how many gtrs he had. I only bring 4 to the gig. An acoustic 6, an acoustic 12, a Strat w/Floyd Rose and either a Flying V or a Les Paul- I can pretty much cover anything from AC/DC, SRV, VH to Black Eyed Peas, Weezer and unplugged stuff ala Beatles,Eric Clapton, Incubus. (I sing and play to backing trax I record in Sonar and perform 4-5 nights/wk in MN and WI as Minnesota's #1 One Man Band.) He goes right to "I definitely have more gtrs than you" and I knew the guy was joker. Geez dude- I probly have over 30 gtrs and these at the gig aren't even the nice ones! But who cares-you can only play em one at a time-- unless your Rick Neilsen! I was gonna blow the guy off until 2 employees from the bar said he was a regular and asked if he could play a song. I was like "sure!" I plugged the guy in and started the sequence for the easy 3 chord Keep Your hands to Yourself by the Georgia Satellites. This guy was amazing--not only could he not play any solo, he could not even feel when to change on the 1,1V and V-he couldn't even find beat 1 . Anyways- I'm not rich but I am lucky and blessed enough to make a living doing music and have done so for decades--performing, recording and teaching. These days I've taken a hiatus from studio work and teaching to enjoy performing live. Why are you afraid to show your real name or say what you do with music...?...I just take offense at some nobody calling me a Bozo. Jeff Loven www.jeffloven.com |

"Bareback Mountain Cowgirls", no that's a new all-anal porno movie, which
I'm sure will be released shortly. If you payed to see to both of these movies, and had an inkling of the subject matter and knew it would offend you, why did you go?
