Default Decoding ASUS Motherboard Models

In article , says...
It doesn't leave the motherboard and is not going to replace PCI.
TTBOMK the only use for CSA at the moment is for gigabit Ethernet,
though I see a natural fit for 1394.b there.

But even if you're not using gigabit Ethernet, getting Ethernet traffic
off the bus is a *very good thing*, especially since many older Ethernet
controllers tend to tie up the PCI bus for inordinate amounts of time,
resulting in crackles if your DAW's latency is set too low. I have a
P4C800-E, and I can heartily recommend it for DAW work.

Also, I know that the -E model has USB 2.0 built into the southbridge,
and I'm not sure if that's the case for the non -E model; again, this is
important to keep your non-audio traffic away from the PCI bus. That's
especially important for me, since I use USB 2.0 as a desktop extender;
my keyboard and mouse are both USB, so between that and a long DVI
cable, I can keep the PC in the next room.

Unfortunately, if I remember, the Firewire on the 800E is not built into
the southbridge, so that traffic does in fact go over the PCI bus. That
may be important if you use Firewire hard drives. I use Firewire only
for burning CDs, so I don't much care. If you're thinking about remote
drives and planning on using this model or a similar one, you'll want
USB 2.0 drives instead of Firewire.
