I work for Audiophile Systems LTD., USA importer for Arcam, dCS,
Nottingham Analogue, Piega and Cambre'. We have been selling our remaining discontinued Arcam DV-29 on eBay and were caught in a scam by Daryl Oberfeld, 14342 Jeffries Place, Midlothian, VA 23114. He bought one using an eBay and PayPal account under the alias Kris Dale and then the PayPal account was closed suddenly causing a reverse of his payment. We have not been able to recover either money or the DVD player and are working with the Chesterfield County Virginia police department. WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT TO YOU - Do not buy Arcam FMJ DV-29 serial number D29A002309 in black finish from anyone as it is a STOLEN machine. Please contact me with any news you hear about this item at , or call detective John Church of the Chesterfield County police department at 804-748-1781. This guy uses at least two other aliases that I have heard of, Kris Cole and his current one as of two days ago, Todd Hampton. He has been using hotmail email addresses but that may change. I got him suspended from Audigon two days ago for trying to sell this and other stolen merchandise there, and he was using this alias. Thank you for any help you may be able to give. |

![]() Several years ago, a comment was posted about me on a blog that Google's search engine now reports. I was accused by a Company of trading under multiple aliases on a popular website. Further, It was claimed that I purchased and subsequently received their product at my residence. I never transacted with this company and never received their product. Their claim was that a common carrier delivered their product to my residence and it was left by my door. The company could never produce proof that I received their product. The Company searched the internet for contact information based on my address and contacted me. Their contact resulted in a heated exchange between myself and the Company. No accord was ever reached between me and the Company. I googled myself some time ago and found that the Company had issued a harmful statement against me by reporting their accounts of this situation on a Blog. I was unaware they had taken this action and abused their right to free speech by placing defamatory statements about me on a Blog that is picked up by Google. I am appalled over the viciousness and inaccuracy of the Cpmpany's remarks. I find it completely irresponsible that this information is protected by Google and it is allowed to be published. These comments have caused harm to me and violated my right to challenge the Company's remarks before they are allowed to be published in the public forum. These claims do not truthfully represent the chain of events that took place between me and the Company. My accuser exercised their right to seek assistance from my local law enforcement agency. However, they did so by making false claims and accusations about my alleged trading practices over the internet. I have attempted to have Google remove the link to this Blog, so the comments do not appear on Google's search engine. Google takes the position that they will not remove any posting from their search engine unless a court order binds them to comply. The legal process of challenging internet abuse is still in it's infancy. Counsel has advised me that the removal of these remarks would involve a challenging legal process to find unlawful practice over two state jurisdications. The process could be lengthly and result in significant legal costs. I am in no position to incur the costs of a lengthy legal process. My only available option is to bring my side of these events to the public forum and refute the Company's claims. In addition, provide a warning to others who could fall into the same trap. There is something wrong with a company like Google having so much power to deny a reasonable request to remove harmful statements reported by their search engine. They should be held accountable for their role in spreading unfounded information like a virus over the internet. Google's public response to removing harmful information is they only report what is in the public domain. If a person does not want something defamitory to be reported, than don't do it. A party can possess a biased account of facts and report them on a Blog that shows up on Google. There is no simple process to hold people accountable for their statements and hold the agent reporting this information responsible. The internet offers a tremendous opportunity to gain access to information. When abused, the internet can cause significant harm and severe consequences to a party being attacked. Without putting into law the appropriate controls to stop the spread of irresponsible information, many people will continue to be harmed and the numbers will grow. Look at Facebook, all kinds of information is gathered by third parties using that site. Many people feel comfortable posting personal pictures and personal information on the site. There are countless ways that information viewed on Facebook can be used to harm people. Thanks for reading and be careful what you share. -- Send from http://www.nonsolonews.net |
