Trouble is that when you order it you find it actually ISN'T in stock at all. And six months later it still hasn't come. And even if it turns out to be in stock, the cheapest freight is $46 to me, instead of the US$10 that it ought to be. geoff |

If you can use it, you might look at a suspension mount for it. I'll bet the one that MXL uses for a few of their mics would fit it, and that one is packaged by one of the off-the-rack music store distributors. There are a couple of different sizes, so take the mic with you when you go looking. It's a spring clamp that goes around the body. The trick is to find if there's a place you can clamp it where it's reasonably balanced and the clamp doesn't block the rear port. Take a look at the MXL-57 to get an idea of what I'm talking about: http://www.mxlmics.com/products/acce...cessories.html -- If you e-mail me and it bounces, use your secret decoder ring and reach me he double-m-eleven-double-zero at yahoo -- I'm really Mike Rivers ) |

I'd suggest trying a broadcast supply house, like BSW. And even if it turns out to be in stock, the cheapest freight is $46 to me, instead of the US$10 that it ought to be. Isn't there a broadcast supplier in NZ or Australia? --scott -- "C'est un Nagra. C'est suisse, et tres, tres precis." |

Geoff,
I'm going to B & H tomorrow, trolling their used lens department. Want me to see if they have one and take it down to the Post Office? DW dwgriffi at gmail-dot-com |

Glenn Yes, They are actually the same mic, marketed to different sectors, the RE to pros and the PL to the MI market. Google holds archival disccusion of that. -- ha shut up and play your guitar |

Will a clip for the new PL 20 work for a re20? Glenn .. . . . . I was going to reserve comment on the new PL line until after I had 'hands-on' but this question deserves response. There is no "new" PL20. The only model number that was reused was PL80 and it bears only a vague resemblence to the original ('80s) PL80. All the other new models are new designs and don't resemble anything EV has done in the past. I can only assume that they are cheap far-east imports based on the price points. Even the PL designation stands for something different now. The original was "ProLine", the new mics are refered to as "Professional Live". As far as I can see from the EV site none of the new mics use the "collar clamp" style of clip like the RE20/27. So no, I don't think there's anything there that will serve as a clip for the RE20. rd |
