![]() I was - thinking of the line with a similar designation that they sell in such find music stores as Target and Best Buy. But the fact that it has built-in speakers is a little suspicious. It probably sounds fine when played at apartment volume, but when blown up out of proportion by a PA system, could sould a little funky no matter how clean the amplification. The pros that I know who use it bought it because it is so much easier to bring on the bus and write songs/practice while travelling to and fro. I have NEVER heard of anyone having the built-in speakers active, much less mic'ed, during a gig. I have a P-80, which is basically the same unit w/o the built-in amp and speakers. Sound great, playes great, but there are some times that it would be nice if I had even a cheesy built-in speaker to diddle with. I think you guys would be surprised at how clean the built in speakers/amp sound. They really improved them alot from the p200's. For playing with the acoustic piano voices home alone there is no way you'd want to amplify the sound any furthur, unless you wanted just wanted tons of volume. I do amplify the EP sounds, as they sound very nice loud. I haven't had this thing long, and have yet to play a gig with it, so I've never mic'ed it on stage; don't think I would really, that was just something I tried for fun =) I play in a small acoustic band, so the onboard speakers might actually be useful as monitors in that kind of setting. The only thing I don't like about this thing is that it weighs in at 80 pounds. anthony |
