"original master tapes" are reel to reel tapes (generally), so I don't understand that part of the question 2. my experience wiht my Tanberg deck is that at 7.5 ips I can't hear the difference between tape and LP, but I can at 3 3/4 - this is, of course if you use good tape and a good cartrige 3. for comparision to CDs, see discussion of CD versus LP. 4. cheap tape or cheap tape units will induce hiss and other artifacts |
