I was commenting on Tom Nousaine performing consultancy work for
manufacturers, which had been mentioned in passing on the newsgroup.
I personally think this is a conflict of interest for a magazine
reviewer, no matter how carefully he manages the various
relationships or if, as Tom explained, the consultancy work is
limited to the same kind of measurements that are published in
reviews. I do not see how it is "bad form" to express that opinion.
