Default Philips SACD1000 reliability

What's about the matter?
I have had three different product of the same model and all three had
the same troubles, many friends of mine bought the same Philips and
all, I repeat all, had troubles with it.

The main problems a
a) stop during reading any support (SACD, DVD, CD) after blocking for
a while.
b) the number on display seems to be totally mad running from 1 to
25/30 in few seconds.
The troubles seems to be apparent only when the SACD1000 became very
warm after at least 30 minutes working.

Luckily my product is on warranty period but what happened to Philips?

Thank you for any useful info.

The problem you speak of is caused by a faulty chip in the Phillips.
Phillips is replacing them only as needed.

Phillips has closed *all* of its company-operated factory service centers in
the United States and is using only licensed repair shops.

It is still too early to tell how compentent these shops are to diagnosing
and fixing the problem...previously company shops were doing these repairs.
At the very least, the repairs seem to be taking longer and involve (often)
transhipping between repair centers, according to the inmates on AudioAsylum
who have/have had the problem.

You may wish to visit AudioAsylum and do an archieve search. There has been
enormous amount of discussion of this problem.

Hope this helps.
