Notice several threads discussing the lack of hybrid multi-channel
SACD titles. There are a few coming out on indie labels. One recommended is "October", jazz/classical fusion music from composer/vibraphonist Larry Chernicoff. Unusually good use of surround capability, placing the listener in the middle of a semi-circle of violin, cello, harp, clarinet, bassoon, French horn, oboe, saxophones, vibes.... a miniature orchestra. The music is quite unique. www.larrychernicoff.com, click on October CD. |
