I'm looking into replacing my Sony SCD- XE670 SACD player with a Denon
universal player- DVD 2900. The Denon unit is rather high end compared to the Sony, but the Sony is strictly for audio use only. I also want the Denon for DVD- Audio and DVD playback, since I don't have a DVD player at the moment. How was the SACD audio quality of the Sony unit? Am I going to notice an improvement going to the Denon? I also noticed MSB has a new upgrade option for SACD players. It has a board installed to output the SACD signal to an external processor. I assume it converts it to PCM to do that. I may consider that in the future if the price of that upgrade comes down. Also anyone have any opinions on the DVD 2900 itself as an audio player? Also what would be a good selling price for the Sony unit when I may decide to sell it off? |
