Default should old integ. amp be kept on all the time?

My advice would be to plug the amp and source components into a plug
strip and turn the plug strip on and off. This would avoid the
problem of wear on the switch in the amp AND the source components,
and would provide a cheap component (the plug strip) to replace in
case of failure.

I would appreciate an advice on whether it would be less 'stressful'
for a 35-year old integrated amp (not high-end) to be kept 'on' all
the time, or to be turned on and off several times a day (when I'd

use
it to listen to music).

Thanks,
Vadim.
