wrote: Hi, How can I connect an XLR microphone to my computer to use with Adobe Audition? I have a Creative 2ZS Platinum Pro soundcard with a 1/4" jack, but no XLR in capabilities. Are there other microphone options available? I'd like to be able to record a sax, trumpet, drum kit, and acoustic bass into Adobe Audition. Should I get a mixing board and then connect that to the 1/4" microphone imput on the soundcard? I appreciate your help. Yes. And connect it to Line In of your soundcard, not Mic In. If you're going into multi-microphone recording seriously, this might be the right time to ditch the Creative soundcard (which is a top-of-the-range consumer toy) in favour of a multi-channel card. There's a wide choice available, some with microphone preamps included, avoiding the need for a separate mixer.
