I recieved an old KX-50 deck from a friend, with the warning that it
didn't work. Having opened it up and had a look, everything SEEMS fine, but the transport controls are wonky. The play button is stuck down, none of the others want to move, and I can't really try and figure out the mechanics because it's all buried underneath everything else, and I'm reluctant to take it apart only to find I can't put it back together. Is it just a case of clicking pieces of metal back into place? Is it worth the effort? From what I've read the KX-50 is a fairly good tape deck, especially for the price I paid for it. Everything else seems in good working condition. Heck, I'll even settle for only having the PLAY and STOP buttons working. So, any ideas? Should I try take the thing apart further? What should I look for? Thanks for any help! |
